Need for Single Window System for Entrepreneurs in Maharashtra – Shri Robin Banerjee Former President CII

The program ‘Maharashtra Growth Story Conclave’ was organized by Arthsanket to discuss the progress and development of Maharashtra as a state. With a vibrant mix of industries ranging from IT and manufacturing to agriculture and tourism, Maharashtra has shown remarkable growth over the years. The aim of the conference was to highlight the factors contributing to this success, such as government initiatives, infrastructure development and investment opportunities.

Dr. Amit Bagwe unfolded the rising graph of Maharashtra’s progress. He opined that Maharashtra has always played the role of a big brother in India. The name ‘Maharashtra’ was first mentioned by the Chinese traveler Huan Tsang in the 7th century. After independence, Maharashtra was a pioneer in the development of agricultural cooperatives. The state of Maharashtra contributes about 13% to the total small scale industries in India. Maharashtra has about 4 million small scale industries, which provide employment to more than 10 million people. From April 2000 to September 2022, the inflow of foreign direct investment into Maharashtra was ₹ 10.88 lakh crore, which was 28.5% of the total foreign investment in the country. Maharashtra accounts for 25% of India’s total manufacturing output, making it the largest manufacturing state in India.

Although Maharashtra is ahead in many aspects in the country, there is a problem in getting many permits to start an industry and there is a need for a single window system for entrepreneurs in Maharashtra, opined former president of CII, Mr. Robin Banerjee.

442 small and medium entrepreneurs have raised capital of crores of rupees by listing on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Most of the small entrepreneurs are from Maharashtra. Mr. Ajay Thakur informed that the total market capital of the companies registered in the Bombay Stock Exchange is almost Rs 70,000 thousand crores.

Mr. Atmaram Parab, founder of Isha Tours, informed about various opportunities in the tourism sector and presented his inspiring entrepreneurial journey from middle class to 25 crores business to the audience.

Mr. Manoj Dumbre of RK Bazar, a chain of over 15 supermarkets, informed about the opportunities in the retail sector. He also said that the new franchise system of RK Bazar will provide many opportunities.

English book ‘WhatsApp Marketing for Small Business’ written by Dr. Amit Bagwe was published on this occasion. Mrs. Rachna Bagwe informed about the opportunities available for women entrepreneurs. Professor Rohan Homkar moderated the program and won the hearts of the attendees.

Nicmar University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mrs. Sushma Kulkarni and Mrs. Shamika Rane Sawant and Ekal Mahila Sangatana were honored with the ‘Women Excellence’ award. Mr. Ashish Sankpal was honored with ‘Business Excellence’ award. ‘Best Educational Institute in Maharashtra’ to Akshay Educational Institute, Mrs. Deepali Kadam, Sunita More, Shweta Mohanty of Business Leadership League, Shubhangi Kulkarni, Mrs. Karuna Sankhe were honored with ‘Women Achievers’ award.
