On On 4th June, 2022, at the Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Hall, Magazine on the topics of Travel, Food culture and Entrepreneurship in Kokan were published in English-Marathi language by the organization ‘Coastal Kokan’. This magazine and the program “Connect Kokan” was organized to attract international tourists to Kokan and to grow employment and industry in Kokan.
For the inauguration of this magazine, MLA Shri Niteshji Rane, veteran Actor Shri Sandeep Kulkarni, Shri. Ashokrao Dugade, Shri. Anant Bhalekar and Shri. Pradip Manjrekar and Mrs. Rachna Amit Lachke – Bagwe were present on the stage.
Through this event, the Kokan Gaurav Award was given to the YouTubers and Entrepreneurs who strive for the development of Kokan.
Mr. Nitesh Rane appealed film industry to come to the Kokan for movie shooting and also to people of Kokan to reach out to the world by spreading this magazine all over the world.
Mr. Pradeep Manjrekar, Founder of Coastal Kokan, spoke on how to increase tourism and entrepreneurship in the Kokan through Coastal Kokan. Also, Mrs. Rachna Lachke Bagwe Coastal Kokan co-founder spoke about how the Kokan can be in front of the world by combining the three things of travel, food and business and how to increase employment in the Kokan.
Sandeep Kulkarni told the audience about the relevance of the shooting of the film ‘Shwas’ because of natural beauty of Kokan.
The event featured two discussion sessions: Connect Kokan – Digitally and Connect Kokan – Tourism and Business with Shri Atmaram Parab and 3 YouTubers from Kokan. Mr. Somnath Nagawade, Mr. Lucky Kambli, Mr. Satish Ratate were present, and Mr. Nitin Walke and Mr. Parag Pimple, Entrepreneurs, provided excellent guidance on tourism and business.
Some of the entrepreneurs from Kokan were honored as Kokan Gaurav. Mr. Mukund Kolambakar of Kokan Maharaja Resort, Mr. Sudhir Rane of Rankos Kokan Bungalow, Mrs. Priyanka Pramod Gandhi of Kokan Katta, Mr. Vasant and Mrs. Varsha Mistry of Suvidya Institute of Technology, Mr. Sudhakar Babar of Soham Holidays and Actor Mr. Sandeep Kulkarni
Mr. Sudhir Risbud, the inventor of sculptural sculptures at Ratnagiri in Konkan, Mr. Sudhir Nazare, a renowned photographer from Kokan, and Mr. Amar Shankarsett, great grandson of Nana Shankarsett were also felicitated for their work. Awaaz’s Shri Kiran Khot, Padma Shri awardee Shri Parashuram Gangawane, PProm’s Shri Tushar Joshi and Shri Vijay Tathre were also honored.
The event was covered by more than 20 youtubers from all over Kokan.
The event received a good response from entrepreneurs from all over Maharashtra, not just Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, but also Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Nashik etc
This is the first step of Coastal Kokan for the development of Kokan.
